The United States is represented by a bald eagle and in China swallows are an important part of Chinese popular culture. Swallows are thought to bring good luck and warm wishes while eagles exude strength, maturity and independence.

In our China Prep logo,we have brought the images of these two birds together using a silk ribbon, an unbroken link expressing themes of communication and friendship.

It is our goal that China Prep participants return home inspired by all they have experienced in our program. Placing the swallow inside of a bald eagle, we represent the piece of China each participant carries with them as they take flight toward their futures.
